WEEK 1

THING 2
Regarding the 7 1/2 Habits of Highly Effective Learners; the easiest one thus far in my life has been through formal learning. I am a life long learner who is constantly taking classes (both free and for pay) for both personal and professional growth. For example, I started taking formal ballet lessons in my late 30's!

Still, I must learn to value the method of informal learning and focusing on the last habit----PLAY! For it is when we are most relaxed that we learn best and remember most. Successful life long learners know the value of play. Fear of failure and fear of not being perfect can hold us back from discoveries, opportunies for learning and growth in improving our quality of living. Habit 3-Viewing Problems as Challenges is a positive way of looking at situations that I would otherwise worry about or avoid. This can be where procrastination sets in. Changing the way we look at an obstacle is critical to our peace of mind. As I focus on Habit 7-Using Technology to Your Advantage, I want to use technology as a means to make my life easier, keeping in mind that along with that must come a tolerance for ambiguity as new tools are explored.

If you would like to join me on my exploration of Web 2.0 technologies, learn more about anything related to the above, please visit this AWESOME website and come play! Public and school librarians are welcome as are teachers or anyone with a desire to learn and grow with Web 2.0. http://schoollibrarylearning2.csla.net/

  3. Thanks! I had fun making her. I wanted to demonstrate something of import to me and thought that would work well. I just learned of a great website http://www.goodguide.com
It has green, ethical and safe product ratings. So, if you want to buy something-anything, you can take a look at it's rating acccording to the reviews. I think it's a great way for us as consumers to exercise more caution and knowledge by supporting companies that are responsible and ethical. Thanks for your comment.
